Edward "Bud" Hill was born on February 17, 1924 in Clarkston, Washington. He passed away at his home in Renton on March 31with his wife and three daughters by his side.

Bud graduated from Clarkston High School in 1942 and continued his education at Central Washington University in Ellensburg where he eventually met June Bach and they were married on March 23, 1947. While at Central he was a member of two Hall of Fame Football Teams: 1942 and 1946. In between, he served 3 years in the United States Navy during WWII. He was assigned to the USS Formoe (DE 509), a destroyer escort stationed in the South Pacific.

After college, Bud was a teacher and coach in Naches, Washington and Easton, Washington. He left teaching to join the Fire Department in Lewiston, Idaho in 1953 and had many memories of the six years he was with the department. He returned to coaching and teaching while still in Lewiston. Teaching and coaching also took him to Moscow, Idaho; Moses Lake, Washington; and Renton.

He taught at Hazen High School from 1969 until his retirement in 1982. In 1976 he bought Jack Lloyd Tackle Company so he could stay busy after he retired.

In recent years, Bud joined Valley Fitness. He started pool walking at age 86 and continued until after his 91st birthday. He not only enjoyed the physical activity three times a week, but he also made many new friends. He always looked forward to a good visit with all of them.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents Edward J. Hill Sr. and Naomia Reeves Hill; his sister Elsie Hill Gabriel; his nephew Clifford Gabriel; and his grandson Aaron Daniel Becker.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years June Bach Hill; Daughters: Kathy Hill Koba (Rick), Kristy Hill, and Bonnie Hill Becker; Grandchildren: Kalin Koba Armstrong (Joel), Amanda Becker Dau (Eric), Andrew (Betsy) Becker; Great Grandchildren: Oscar Dau; Bella, Eva, Aaron Gabriel and Daniel Becker; and his companion dog, Aberdeen "Abby".

Services will be held on Thursday, April 9 at 11am; Greenwood Memorial Park, 350 Monroe Avenue NE in Renton. Graveside service and reception will follow at the same location.
